Admissions

Admissions Requirements

Master’s Program

    • A minimum of 2.7 undergraduate grade point average calculated for the last 60 hours of the Bachelor’s degree.
    • A completed department application. A completed on-line graduate school application.
    • A score on either the Miller Analogy Test (MAT) or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE); International students must take the TOEFL and receive a minimum score of 550 (paper based), 213 (computer based), or 80 (Internet).
    • Submit three recommendation letters from persons familiar with you professionally.

 

Master of Science in Education (M.S. Ed)/Certificate

Educational Administration K-12/Certificate Program: Students are admitted into a cohort program every summer. Contact department secretary for more information.

Superintendent Certificate Program: Applications are accepted throughout the year. No admissions deadline. Contact department secretary for more information.

 

Master of Science in Higher Education

College Student Personnel Program: Applications are accepted throughout the year.

Community College Teaching Program: Admission to this program is currently on hold.

 

Doctor of Philosophy in Education

 Stage 1

    • A minimum of at least 3.25 graduate grade point average. A completed department application.
    • A completed on-line graduate school application.
    • A score on either the Miller Analogy Test (MAT) or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE); International students must take the TOEFL and receive a minimum score of 550 (paper based), 213 (computer based), or 80 (Internet).
    • 3-5 years of successful work experience in teaching, administration, or student affairs. Submit three recommendation letters from persons familiar with you professionally.
    • Submit a writing sample, preferably a graduate course paper.

Stage 2

    • If the above criteria are met, the student will be invited to campus to interview with the admissions committee. Interviews may also be conducted by phone and/or waived in special circumstances.

Applications for the Ph.D. program are accepted at any time during the year; however, you must apply at least two months before the first day of the semester in which you would like to enroll.
