Programs leading to entitlement to the Initial Special Certificate (approved June 14, 2002):

The following entitlement program was approved for continued offering at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Its purpose is to prepare individuals to teach infant/preschool/primary aged children:

  • The Early Childhood Certificate Program

The programs listed below have been approved by the Illinois State Board of Education for offering in the College of Education and Human Services at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Successful completion of the programs listed leads to entitlement to the administrative endorsements identified:
  • Level I-General Supervisory (Special Education only)
