Scholarship Brown Bag Series
Tony Calabrese presenting at Oct. Brown Bag Series |
On Wednesday, October 14, Tony Calabrese of the Department of Kinesiology facilitated an engrossing longitudinal study about his “Collecting, Charting and Ranking the Attitudes and Values of High School Students Over a Thirty Year Period (1978-2008) and Comparing the Similarities and Differences of Those Attitudes and Values with Their Teachers.” Sixteen faculty and students joined Tony for a spirited review of the ways in which valuing has possibly changed during this 30 year period, among both students and teachers, related to such examples as love, fitness, security, wisdom, etc. Thanks to Tony for a stimulating hour!
Our next Brown Bag will take place on Thursday, November 12, from noon to 1:00 p.m. in the Dean’s Conference Room (Wham 219). Dhrubodhi Mukherjee of the School of Social Work will present on “Influence of Social Capital on the Health Perceptions of Older Adults.” As always, faculty, staff and students are invited to attend, with brown bag lunches in hand. Other light refreshments will be provided.
