Harvey Henson is a geologist
with the SIU-C Department of Geology and coordinator of earth
science outreach and community service. His research involves
geophysical subsurface imaging to solve archaeological and geological
problems, most recently at ancient Anasazi Ruins in southwestern
Colorado and along the Trail of Tears and other Illinois locations.
Harvey leads hands-on field trips and tours of departmental exhibits,
the Earthquake Observatory and the University Museum fossil gallery.
He is the director of the Basics in Geology (BIG) after school
program and co-director of the Young Earth Scientist (YES) project.

Dan Anderson |
Dan Anderson
is currently the Regional Superintendent of Schools for Alexander,
Johnson,
Massac, Pulaski and Union counties.
Dan worked in
the Regional Office for ten years and has also served as
consultant
for the State Board of Education, adminstrator
of a special education cooperative and a teacher.
Total of 34 years experience in education.

JoElla Basler |
JoElla Basler has a Master of
Science in Education degree with an emphasis in counselor
education. She is the psychology instructor at SCC teaching
introductory psychology, as well as developmental, social,
abnormal, and the psychology of the exceptional child. JoElla also
holds a teaching certificate in the state of Illinois in special
education with both EBD and EMH endorsements. She is married and
has two children. |

Lori has her
Bachelor of Science and Master Degree in Zoology from Southern
Illinois University at
Carbondale.
Lori is
currently a faculty at
Shawnee
Community
College
since 1997. At
Shawnee
she teaches several different several different biology courses
as well as a Wildlife Management Techniques course and
Introductory Chemistry. She has a strong interest and desire to
improve science education in
Southern
Illinois.
Lori is married and has one son and lives in
Tunnel Hill,
Illinois.

Marla Mallette
is the Asst. Director of Saluki Kids' Academy.
Marla H. Mallette is Assistant
Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
Her research interests include literacy teacher education, literacy instruction
and learning with students of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds,
and the convergence of early literacy and technology.
She earned a PhD in Literacy
/ Teacher Education from University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
