I. Application and Admission
Application Requirements

Admission to a doctoral program in the Graduate School typically requires a master’s degree or its equivalent, minimum of a 3.25 grade point average in graduate work, and acceptance by the academic unit (concentration) to which the candidate applies. Faculty of a specific concentration may add its own grade point average requirements (above the Graduate School minimum) for admission to that particular program.

Students seeking a doctoral degree in COEHS must submit applications to the SIUC Graduate School and individual departments/programs concurrently. The application form for admission to the Graduate School may be obtained online at http://www.siu.edu/gradschl/degrees.htm

Individual COEHS departments may require additional application materials, including but not limited to:
application essays, GRE/MAT scores, and letters of recommendation.
